Hey, fellow writers. I’m Harry, I’m 20 and I’ve been writing for nine years. I generally write sci-fi thrillers, but I’m always trying to blend genres together in an effort to make something new and hopefully awesome. Currently I don’t post my work on Tumblr, for a variety of reasons, but that may change at some point.
With nine years of experience critiquing my own work, I think I’ve learned a few things about how to see errors and plot holes, as well as ideas for fixing them quickly and easily. I’m currently doing a Physics degree, which helps with any scientific parts of writing; so anything that needs a basis in science I’m your guy, even if it’s ridiculous I can at least help make it sound scientific. That aside, there’s really no genre I’m not interested in, and will gladly help with any genre and any length. Besides the scientific aspects of writing, my other main interests are character development and storytelling, I love thinking about what motivates people and unique ways of conveying those motivations subtly. Put simply, I love anything shiny, new and relates to people. With any criticism I’ll be sure to be kind and respectful, I know what it’s like to doubt your work, but my motto is there’s no such thing as bad writing, only work that needs another draft.

Hello! My name is Megan, and I’d love a chance to work on you with your projects. I recently graduated with my BA in Creative Writing from Florida State University, and am an intern at Cambridge Writers’ Workshop, as well as a freelance copywriter and editor, and have previously worked for literary magazines and music magazines. I’ve been published in several different journals, ranging from print to online, in genres including urban fantasy and literary fiction, and have work coming out in the near future. My interests are primarily magical realism/urban fantasy (think Neil Gaiman and Holly Black), but I’m also extremely interested in Southern Gothic (Capote, O’Connor, etc). I’d be happy to read anything YA, or adult oriented, not picky about sex, violence, or profanity, however I will not read fanfiction (sorry.) I’m very meticulous, and really enjoy the process of workshopping, and would love to establish some relationships with other writers in this community. Feel free to contact me through my ask box at wepreyasw0lves.tumblr.com and we can set up a line of communication through that. Looking forward to hearing from you! All the best xx
Hey everyone! I’m Blaine and I’ve been writing for three years now. I mostly write LGBT fiction but I also write adventure and fantasy fiction. I have completed a novel and am looking up agents and publishers for it.
I have taken a few writing classes in college and am an English Major so I’m pretty good about grammar. I also create book covers or random images on the side. I love making my own book covers! It’s a lot of fun to picture a cover in your head and be able to create it yourself. My goal is to become as famous as James Patterson someday :) I’m a lot like James Patterson, actually. I write about five hours a day and work on about seven stories at once. I probably need a co-author to help me finally finish some of my other 50 ideas.
I have over 70 story prompts and ideas so if you get stuck or need help with a summary, I’m your guy! My prompts range from historical fiction to scifi fiction. I’ve tried to write every genre at least once. I tend to enjoy writing medieval fiction now and then because I find that era so interesting. I enjoy looking up topics for my stories, I just wish I could finish more than one of my stories.
If you want to contact me, the best way to reach me is by email. Otherwise, you may have to wait a long time for me to answer.
I’m still in college but am only there part-time. I also don’t have a job so I have plenty of free time. Well, don’t be shy! Send me an email! I promise I won’t bite. I’m very friendly!

You listen to a music you really like by a sidewalk. You begin to tap your foot to the beat. You get so excited and then you suddenly just decide to run to a random person passing by and you say “Dance with me?” What happens next?
Hello, internet. My name is Kim and I’m interested in reading and workshopping your writing! Why? Because I used to do it on a daily basis, and now I’m hungry for more. I’m 22 and recently graduated from the Writing, Literature, and Publishing program at Emerson College, where I participated in creative writing workshop classes pretty much every semester. I have worked with some awesome professors who taught me a lot, as well as read, critiqued, and line-edited about three billion pages of peer writing (hyperbole! My education has truly paid off) in my time at school. They let me graduate, so I guess I did an okay job. In high school I spent quite a lot of time on writing forums posting my work. I had the privilege of sharing my work with a lot of cool people who encouraged me to keep going until I finished writing a YA novel of my own, which hopefully I’ll one day send out! I mostly write long-form pieces, but I’m no stranger to short stories, either.
There’s almost nothing I won’t read, but some of my favorites are horror/mystery, YA of pretty much any kind, and anything magical realism! I also have deep, ancient roots in fanfiction. Some of my favorite stories have been ones that I’ve read online! A few of my favorite writers are Jonathan Safran Foer, Aimee Bender, and George Saunders.
If you’re interested in jamming with me, feel free to send a message to my ask box at http://dixiecupaquarium.tumblr.com/ with a little bit of info and I’ll hook you up with my email address!
Hi. Yasmine here (a.k.a the totes REALincognitofangirl). An irony metaphor, if you will. What can I say? I’m the biggest bookworm/nerd you’ll ever meet. I’m a junior in high school, so time becomes a huge issue when you’re trying to perfect the fan fiction (pathetic, but I’m proud of it!) stored away in the folders on my laptop. (johnlock and captain swan if any of you are wondering). I’m a nerdfighter, of course!, when I’m not baking or obsessing over Once or Sherlock or the latest novel I’ve managed to pour myself into. I have to confess, guys, my favorite is “Fangirl” by Rainbow Rowell. “An Abundance of Katherines” comes in as numero dos. When it comes to writing, I’m a pretty flexible gal. Mostly young adult fics and dystopian novels, but I like to sprinkle new genres here and there. But there is nothing I love more than reading what other people write. Again, I’m open to anything. I’ll admit I’ll lull a little when the stories get wordy, but otherwise, I’ll probably get psyched up. It inspires me to conjure up new ideas, since I get stuck a lot. And I also love giving feedback, and love it even more when people can give me a critique or two.
My tumblr ask box is open or email@example.com
And happy writing guys and gals :D

Greetings! My name is Anne and I’m interested in becoming a Workshopper. Reading and writing are my passions. Currently my favorite book is the Magician King by Lev Grossman. I grew up in New York City, and I live in Manhattan with my two fat cats. I love writing short stories. I am interested in reading all kinds of writing, from fiction and nonfiction to poetry and short stories. I am very friendly and excited to help out in any way I can. :D

Hi there, I’m Taylor. I’m a fourteen-year-old girl passionate about writing, editing, reading, and really the whole process that is a book. I am young as far as editors go, but I’ve wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember. I’ve been to countless writing summer camps, workshops, classes, and clinics over the past few years and I have a miniature library in my room. I write poetry, short stories, parables and fables, literature response essays, and I am currently in the middle of a novel. I don’t use my tumblr blogs to publish any of my writing because I’ve unfortunately had some incidents where people have tried to pass off my work as their own; if you are interested in having me as an editor and want to see my work, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Recently, I’ve shifted my focus to editing pieces of writing and I am eager for any opportunities to edit. Being a tumblr workshopper would be an amazing experience that I would enjoy and hopefully excel at!

Your best friend has suddenly changed. Mood swings, changes in skin tone, and sleeping habits. What happened? You can work this from a SciFi/Fantasy angle, a biological angle, or a psychological angle.
Prompt idea by travisdodgeunwritten:
Write a story using song lyrics as the foundation. The lyrics should appear in order in the text, perhaps set in bold, but they don’t need to as long as it is a short story based on the lyrics of a particular song. The title and artist should be included in the title and the tag Song Story added.

My name is Genevieve and I am a Freshman in high school. Although I am young, I have been writing since elementary school and have work for two years with a professional creative writing/English major graduate. I am actually in the process of revising/editing and publishing my first novel. I also think it is good to have someone around your age (or your directed audience’s age) read your work. I also write poetry and (poetic) prose (you can find my work on my writing blog paper—souls(.)tumblr(.)com) I am happy to look at, edit, revive, give feedback, or anything else you might want on your short stories, longer written works, school assignments (i.e essays), and poetry or prose. In addition, I would love to help you with character development, planning your story, getting started (aka finally getting out those first few lines or pages), and finding inspiration/writing prompts. Although I am happy to look at any genre of writing, I have more knowledge about realistic fiction. The best way for you to contact me is at my email email@example.com. I look forward to working with you!
